Suzuki RE5 Rotary
There are few bikes with more of a history than the RE5. Suzuki were convinced that the rotary engine was the future of motorcycle engines and invested heavily in plant and equipment to manufacture these bikes. The buying public didn't see it that way and as a result not many of these bikes were sold. That makes this quite a rare bike these days.
This example had not been out in the daylight since 1995. This bike formed part of a private collection of rotary engine powered vehicles but the owner was primarily a car guy so it was not used or run during his ownership.
The motor turns and has compression and we have started it and it runs and sounds great, the carb will need to be stripped and cleaned as the fuel smells a bit funky. These bikes can fetch north of 10k once restored so there is plenty of value waiting to be added. A great investment and worthwhile project.
